Scentwork

Dogs are trained for many types of scenting purposes such as searching for drugs, cash, people, explosives, endangered animals, medical detection and much more. For our own domestic dogs there are competitions and trials to take part in or we can just do it for fun as an exercise with our dogs. 

Scentwork can be very calming and therefore very good for rehabilitation and mental stimulation. I have experienced the benefits that Scentwork can have on fearful and reactive dogs by giving them confidence and helping them to relax and concentrate. If you are new to Scentwork and you would like to learn more about it or maybe you would like a better indication or improve you and your dog’s searching technique. Whether for fun or for competition I can offer training on a 1 to 1 basis. The session will be for 1 hour and can take place at your home or within your local area.
